Toast is recruiting on behalf of this company for a Controller to lead financial operations during a pivotal phase of growth. This company, a cybersecurity division within a larger health technology organization, is rapidly expanding and preparing for a potential future spinout. They are seeking a strategic finance leader to establish a scalable, business unit-aligned finance function, strengthen internal controls, and deliver the financial infrastructure needed to support innovation and investor confidence.
 

Responsibilities

 
  • Oversee core accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and revenue recognition.
  • Ensure compliance and audit readiness through the implementation of strong internal controls and IFRS technical assessments.
  • Lead month-end close processes, prepare financial statements, and manage external audit inquiries.
  • Transition finance functions from a centralized model to a business unit-specific structure, supporting unit-level budgeting, cost allocation, and accountability.
  • Direct annual budgeting and forecasting processes in alignment with aggressive growth targets.
  • Deliver financial insights and reports to support executive strategy, investor communications, and board presentations.
  • Build and mentor a finance team that aligns with decentralized operations and future scalability.
  • Improve financial systems and workflows, introducing automation and analytics to enhance reporting and governance.
 

Requirements

 
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline (required); CPA designation strongly preferred.
  • 4+ years in a Controller or senior finance leadership role, preferably in tech or cybersecurity.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading finance transitions and building scalable operations.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP/accounting systems (e.g., Dynamics) and advanced Excel proficiency.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Familiarity with R&D accounting and financial strategies for high-growth environments is an asset.
