Toast is recruiting on behalf of this company for an Engineering Manager to lead a dynamic team of Software Engineers building scalable, impactful SaaS solutions. The Engineering Manager will oversee team development, project delivery, and agile operations while ensuring technical excellence and cross-functional collaboration. Responsibilities



Team Management
  • Build, mentor, and support high-performing engineering teams through recruitment, coaching, and professional development
  • Create a collaborative and inclusive culture that supports open communication and psychological safety
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, offering actionable feedback and setting development goals
  • Lead resource planning to balance skillsets and workloads across projects
  • Act as a servant leader, helping team members overcome challenges and removing blockers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to align technical output with broader business goals
  • Foster a high-performance mindset through clear expectations and ongoing feedback

Agile Project Management
  • Champion Agile methodologies, facilitating key ceremonies including stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives
  • Monitor sprint progress and project timelines to ensure delivery of high-quality software
  • Promote continuous improvement across engineering practices and tools
  • Serve as the communication bridge between teams and stakeholders, ensuring transparency of priorities and deliverables
  • Encourage experimentation, process iteration, and adaptive planning in support of team efficiency
 

Requirements

 
  • 10+ years of experience in SaaS product development, ideally within event-driven, API-first, microservices environments
  • Strong experience in both frontend and backend architecture; exposure to GoLang and React is a plus, though not required
  • Proven ability to build, scale, and mentor diverse engineering teams at varying levels of seniority
  • Track record of fostering inclusive team environments and resolving conflicts constructively
  • In-depth understanding of Agile principles, Scrum practices, and project management tools
  • Strong communication and leadership skills to align team goals with business objectives
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands while maintaining technical quality and team morale
  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
