Toast is a tech-enabled recruitment firm and one of Canada's largest communities for women in tech. We're launching the Toast Talent Marketplace, a platform where companies discover women talent directly, and AI/ML is one of the most requested categories on it.

This is a general posting. We're building our AI/ML talent pool ahead of upcoming roles: machine learning engineering, applied AI, agents, LLM and GenAI work, MLOps, data science, and research engineering. If you're a woman working in AI or ML, we want your profile in the marketplace.

Salary expectations

These ranges reflect national market data across major Canadian tech hubs based on the 2025 Randstad Salary Guide. Actual compensation varies by location, experience, skills, and company. Major metros like Toronto and Vancouver typically sit at the higher end, while smaller markets may be lower. When you create your Toast Talent Portal profile, you'll set your own salary expectations so companies can match you to roles that align with what you're looking for.
 

• Junior (ML Engineer/Data Scientist): $80K - $105K
• Intermediate (Senior ML Engineer): $105K - $140K
• Senior (Staff/Applied Scientist): $140K - $180K
• Exec (Lead/Director/VP): $180K - $240K+

How it works

3. Creating your portal account is required. Your application is only complete once your profile is live in the portal. This is what puts you in front of hiring companies.
