Responsibilities

Member Communications & Engagement (40%)
  • Design and execute cooperative-wide communication plans that reflect strategic priorities and promote clarity and connection.
  • Manage and evolve communication channels including all-hands meetings, member newsletters, internal reports, the Annual General Meeting, and the Annual Report.
  • Monitor and engage in member forums, responding with clarity and empathy, while coordinating cross-functional input when needed.
  • Maintain the company’s internal Knowledge Hub, ensuring documentation and policies are accessible and up to date.
  • Support engagement activities including milestones, celebrations, and recognition programs.
  • Lead internal communication strategy for change management and new initiatives.

Project Communications & Coordination (25%)
  • Participate in project management initiatives, applying lean and agile principles to improve delivery and coordination.
  • Lead and support strategic communication efforts around key organizational projects.
  • Serve as a liaison across departments to align messaging and timelines.

Governance & External Communications (25%)
  • Manage cooperative communications related to governance activities, including proposals, voting, and compliance documentation.
  • Act as a point of contact for co-op partnerships, responding to media, research, and community inquiries.
  • Contribute to co-op reporting and help maintain relationships with external cooperative and creative communities.

Tools, Systems, and Process Improvement (10%)
  • Help evaluate, onboard, and optimize tools that support communication and operational efficiency.
  • Track engagement and communication KPIs to continually improve practices and outcomes.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in communications, operations, or related roles—preferably in a remote-first, tech-enabled environment.
  • Proven success developing and implementing communication strategies in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to convey complex topics simply and effectively.
  • Experienced in managing internal content platforms, newsletters, and collaborative tools (e.g., GSuite, Slack, Asana).
  • Experience communicating with remote and international audiences, with attention to cultural inclusivity and clarity.
  • Ability to synthesize data and trends into clear and compelling communications.
  • Preferred: Certified Scrum Master and/or formal project management training.

Benefits

  • Compensation: $60,000–$75,000 CAD annually, commensurate with experience.
  • Remote flexibility: Fully remote, with support for your optimal productivity and wellness.
  • Time off: Six weeks of paid vacation, unlimited sick days, and one paid volunteer day annually.
  • Health coverage: Comprehensive health and dental benefits (or a health spending account outside Canada).
  • Development support: $1,000 annual allowance toward education and wellness.
  • Purposeful work: Be part of a mission-driven, creative cooperative committed to equity and representation in the visual media space.
