Everything you need to know about the Toast Talent Portal and Marketplace.
No. Many members in the talent pool are passively open to opportunities — not actively searching, but willing to hear about the right role. You can indicate your availability status on your profile and update it at any time.
Not exactly. Unlike a traditional job board where you apply to posted roles, the Toast talent pool where our Toast recruiters source from and where employers come to you. You create a profile, and companies searching for talent with your background can reach out directly. You're in control of who sees what.
Your profile includes the information you provide when you sign up or update through the portal — typically your skills, experience level, industries of interest, location preferences, and availability. You control what you share.
No. At the profile browsing stage, employers see an anonymized version of your profile — your name, current employer, and other identifying details are not visible. Contact details are only shared if you choose to engage with an employer's outreach.
Toast's anonymization model is structural — it's built into how profiles are displayed to employers, not something applied after the fact. Identifying information is separated from your searchable profile data so that employers search based on skills and experience, not identity. Research consistently shows that hiring decisions are influenced by factors that have nothing to do with ability — names, photos, career gaps, and other signals that reveal gender, ethnicity, or background. Toast's anonymization is designed to reduce that bias at the point of discovery, before an employer decides whether to reach out.
Yes. You can update your profile at any time through the portal, including what information you share, your availability status, and your job preferences.
Your data is used only to match you with relevant employer searches on the Toast platform. Toast does not sell your data to third parties or share it with employers without your involvement in the process.
Toast's anonymization means your current employer cannot identify you by name during a search. However, if you are concerned, you can adjust your profile visibility settings or deactivate your profile at any time.
