Job Description

This company is seeking an Account Executive, Public Sector & Non-Profits, to drive revenue growth across three core customer segments: Municipalities (B2G), Food Rescue Organizations/Food Banks (B2B Non-Profit), and Food Donors (Marketplace Pilots). This role reports directly to the CEO and plays a critical part in expanding access to technology that addresses food insecurity and sustainability challenges.

They are looking for a strategic, relationship-oriented sales professional who understands the nuances of selling to public sector and non-profit stakeholders. The ideal candidate brings both structure and adaptability—able to navigate complex procurement cycles while also building meaningful, mission-aligned partnerships.

This company values inclusive leadership, diverse perspectives, and equitable access to opportunity. They are committed to building a team where women and underrepresented professionals can thrive, lead, and make measurable impact.

Responsibilities

Business-to-Government (B2G) Sales | Primary Focus

  • Develop and execute targeted sales strategies to introduce food rescue software solutions to local, municipal, and county governments.
  • Navigate public sector procurement processes, including RFPs, contract negotiations, and budget planning cycles.
  • Build trusted relationships with decision-makers in sustainability, public works, community services, and waste management departments.
  • Consistently achieve or exceed quarterly and annual B2G sales targets.

Business-to-Business (B2B) Non-Profit Sales | Secondary Focus

  • Identify and engage food rescue organizations, food banks, and large-scale feeding programs within the assigned territory.
  • Deliver tailored product demonstrations aligned to operational realities and funding structures of non-profit organizations.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to contract execution.
  • Lead evaluation processes, respond to stakeholder questions, and drive informed purchasing decisions.
  • Develop customized sales materials, proposals, and partnership agreements.
  • Gather and synthesize customer insights to inform ongoing product development.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with onboarding, product, and technical teams to ensure successful implementations.

Food Donor / Marketplace Sales | Emerging Focus (Pilot Phase)

  • Support pilot initiatives by identifying and engaging high-volume food donors, such as grocery chains, convention centers, restaurants, and institutional cafeterias.
  • Work alongside the Project Manager to refine messaging, positioning, and early adoption strategies.

Requirements

  • Proven B2B and/or B2G sales experience with a demonstrated record of meeting or exceeding quota.
  • Direct experience selling complex software or service solutions to municipal or state government agencies; familiarity with public-sector procurement processes is highly preferred.
  • Experience selling into the non-profit sector, ideally with food banks, food pantries, or related organizations.
  • Proficiency with modern CRM and sales tools (e.g., Salesforce, Pipedrive), with strong pipeline management discipline.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, persuasive messaging.
  • A mission-driven mindset and demonstrated interest in sustainability, social impact, and addressing food insecurity.
  • Self-motivated, resilient, and comfortable operating in a growth-stage environment.

Preferred:

  • Experience introducing early-stage or emerging technology solutions, including supporting pilot programs.
  • Familiarity with the regulatory landscape surrounding food donation liability and safety.

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary with performance-based commission structure.
  • Direct visibility to executive leadership, with the opportunity to shape go-to-market strategy.
  • Meaningful, mission-driven work addressing food insecurity and sustainability challenges.
  • A flexible and inclusive work environment that values diverse experiences and leadership styles.
  • Opportunities for professional growth in a company that prioritizes equitable advancement and representation of women in technology and leadership.
