Job Description

This company is building the default discovery layer for electronic components, reaching millions of engineers annually. With a proprietary dataset of more than 10 million components and a rapidly scaling AI-powered demand engine, they are transforming how the global electronics industry connects supply and demand.

They are looking for a Head of Sales to build and lead their revenue engine from the ground up. Since their early funding stage, revenue has grown significantly with a lean team and no dedicated sales leader. Now, the company is ready to formalize and scale its sales motion. This is a high-impact opportunity for a strategic and hands-on leader who is excited to personally drive deals, establish repeatable systems, and build a high-performing team.

This role is hybrid, based in Redwood City, California.

Responsibilities

Phase 1: Lead from the Front

  • Own the full sales cycle, including discovery, pricing, negotiation, and closing strategic deals.
  • Define and document the sales playbook, including ideal customer profile (ICP), packaging, contracts, pipeline management, and forecasting.
  • Design, test, and refine both outbound and inbound sales motions to establish a repeatable pipeline.
  • Partner closely with the CEO to maintain strong operating rhythm, proactively surfacing insights, progress, and risks.

Phase 2: Build and Scale the Team

  • Recruit, hire, and develop high-performing sales professionals.
  • Establish operating cadence and performance metrics to support predictable, scalable revenue growth.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and inclusive team culture rooted in transparency and continuous learning.

Requirements

  • Proven experience building a sales motion at a venture-backed company and scaling revenue from seven figures to eight figures.
  • Demonstrated ability to personally close complex, strategic deals.
  • A builder mindset with enthusiasm for hands-on execution before delegating.
  • Strong experimentation approach to messaging, pricing, and objection handling, with the ability to adapt based on data.
  • Operational rigor, including disciplined CRM management and forecasting practices.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate closely with executive leadership.
  • Commitment to cultivating an inclusive team environment where diverse perspectives are valued.

Benefits

  • $300,000–$400,000 total compensation, including competitive base salary and meaningful equity.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
  • 401(k) plan (non-matching).
  • Commuter benefits.
  • Catered lunches on in-office days.
  • Hybrid work model (in office Monday, Wednesday, and Friday; remote Tuesday and Thursday).
  • The opportunity to shape the sales organization from inception and have a direct impact on the company’s long-term growth.
  • A thoughtful, low-ego team environment that values collaboration, accountability, and inclusive leadership.
