Job Description

Toast is recruiting on behalf of a growing healthcare technology company based in Calgary, Alberta. Operating in the digital health space, this organization sits at the intersection of enterprise software and AI-driven clinical solutions, with a team large enough to move fast but focused enough that every contributor has real impact. The company is actively building next-generation tools that streamline healthcare workflows and improve outcomes for both providers and patients. They are looking for a Senior UX Designer to join their remote team and lead design across several of their core product initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design initiatives across multiple product lines, owning the full design lifecycle from early ideation through to delivery
  • Create wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals that are actionable for development teams and aligned with product vision
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and data teams to ensure user experience is intuitive, scalable, and thoughtfully integrated with AI features
  • Develop and maintain design systems, style guides, and pattern libraries to ensure consistency across products
  • Partner with UX researchers to conduct usability testing, analyze user feedback, and iterate on solutions
  • Present and advocate for design decisions to stakeholders at all levels, balancing user needs with business goals
  • Ensure accurate implementation by working directly with developers during design handoff
  • Stay current on UX trends, healthcare advancements, and emerging AI technologies to keep products competitive and innovative

Requirements

  • 5 or more years of UX design experience, ideally within healthcare or a closely related industry, supported by a strong portfolio of enterprise-level work
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, and InVision
  • Solid foundation in user-centered design principles, interaction design, and information architecture
  • Experience working with UX researchers and translating insights into refined design decisions
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate design rationale to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Familiarity with healthcare workflows, regulatory requirements, and HIPAA standards
  • Experience with AI and machine learning applications in a product context is an asset
  • Background in a startup or agile development environment is an asset

Benefits

  • Competitive salary commensurate with senior-level experience
  • Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision coverage
  • Employee and Family Assistance Program
  • Paid personal days and vacation time in support of a healthy work-life balance
  • Opportunity to design tools that directly reduce administrative burden on clinicians and improve the quality of information available at the point of care
  • Real influence on products that affect patient outcomes and provider efficiency at scale, in a role where your design decisions are visible and valued
